JLR opened US orders on Sept 2. Base SE starts at $140,450. Dual-motor AWD, 542 hp, 627 lb-ft, 0–60 in 4.3 seconds. 118.5 kWh pack, EPA-estimated 333 miles, 800V architecture, 10–80% in about 22 minutes. North America models have a built-in NACS port.

Ford names the Fathom, its midsize EV truck

Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed the all-electric midsize pickup is called Fathom, with a full reveal by year-end and production aimed at 2027. Ford has said it will start at $29,945 including the $1,595 delivery fee. First vehicle off Ford's new Universal Electric Vehicle platform.

BMW i3 sedan US orders open in October

BMW of North America is lining up US orders for the i3 50 xDrive in early October 2026, with deliveries expected in early 2027. Dual-motor 463 hp, 108.7 kWh battery, EPA-estimated range up to 440 miles, 400 kW DC charging, NACS port plus a CCS adapter. Pricing not announced yet.

Kia EV3 undercuts the field in Canada

Kia Canada priced the 2027 EV3 Light FWD at $36,995 MSRP and called it the lowest-priced EV in Canada excluding incentives. Dealer arrivals expected later in August 2026. GT AWD tops the range at $55,995 MSRP.

Dry-aging does more than concentrate flavor by losing water. Research on dry-aged beef loins found higher levels of free amino acids and reducing sugars (the Maillard precursors) than wet-aged beef. That is why a properly dry-aged steak browns harder and tastes more roasted and nutty when it hits a ripping-hot pan.
